They presented various know how and innovations in the field of valorization of organic waste, whether from forest, municipal or other residual sources, to a number of value-added derivatives including biofuel, biosolids , syngas , bio oil,  H2 (hydrogen), CH4 (methane) and other valuable end-products, including but not limited to BIO-Fertilizer.

Today, Lakson and its affiliates are involved in major power conversion projects to biomass, many of which concern upgrading existing installations with a minimum of interventions or modification in order to fire or combust (renewal energy) residuals, displacing fossil fuels and decreasing the carbon foot print of numerous industries

Lakson actively collaborates with a number of universities across the world, bringing its innovative approach to support an environmentally friendly, viable and economic transition towards green energy and agriculture projects.

Upstream and down stream of digesters, we bring various solutions including the conditioning of residues from the operations into useful components, such as biosolids to be fired in suspension/semi gasification technologies with a controled, highly modulated, high intensity flame with near instantaneous turn-down / ramp-up capabilities .

The International bioenergy congress came to a conclusion with a significant amount of valuable connections and network growth of large potential end-users and collaborators in a world starving for green energy.

Wastewater Treatment

Lakson completed phase 1 for the wastewater treatment project implementing its intellectual property methodology. The project includes removing oil and grease, recovering products while treating the wash water for reuse, recycling the clean stream for washing purposes extracting suspended solid parts to be valorized producing valuable products.

Conversion of several fossil fuel boilers to biomass firing

Among their redevelopment projects in Canada, Lakson Team is currently mandated by a multinational mining company. “The company produces carbon residues that it wants to recycle, in which there are undesirable components for combustion such as fluorine or chlorine.

With its knowledge of the chemical and mechanical engineering team, Lakson via its affiliate is, therefore, able to propose a process to produce a homogeneous and clean biofuel, thus replacing natural gas in a thermal power plant in Quebec. »

Valorisation of municipal organic sorted Material

Residual materials are a scourge on the entire planet. Our team is currently working on a major project to recover 5,000 tons of organic matter per day in the suburbs of Mexico City.

Following sorting, Lakson’s process lines allow the production of biofertilizer, pyrolytic oil, biochar, biogas and transport pallet molded with wood residues.

Manure and Organic Material to fertilizers

Excessive farming and the use of chemical fertilizers have damaged soil fertility in several parts of the word. Many governments nowadays have undertaken a program to develop organic fertilizers from slurry, sludge and peat so as to market these as a supplement to chemical fertilizers.

Several methods are available to develop organic fertilizers. Lakson and associates “introduce a different approach converting biomass, such as animal manure, slurry, sludge, peat, etc,  into a useful product that can be classified as Class A -.fertilizer.

The approach consists of processing biomass (animal manure, municipal organic waste, digestat, pulp and paper sludge, wood waste and other organic waste ) through our integrating Biomass Conditioning System BCS including proprietary intellectual property of optimisation methods to come out with high quality fertilizer preprogrammed to achieve required final product. The system has the advantage of dehydrating, grinding, drying homogenisation and proper dozing of various ingredients  while, at the same time rendering the product pathogen-free and reduces the odor.

The complete integrated BCS system will provide the required technical and economical performance to ensure quality preparation for slurry, sludge, peat and other organic materials. The by-product of these materials has the ability to safeguard organic materials such as nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium; this increases its standard as a fertilizer and ensures higher organic fertilizer quality production

The soil research department in several universities of agriculture has confirmed that organic fertilizers developed by organic ingredients in the majority have many benefits and can replace chemical derived fertilizers. Particularly, organic fertilizers derrived from poultry litter are very good for several types of soil,

Animal manure (cow, hog, chicken, duck, and horse) has a long tradition of use as an effective fertilizer. However, with modern intensive agricultural production, manure volumes can exceed the capacity of nearby croplands to absorb the nutrients in the manure.

Numerous cases have been reported in the media of inappropriately spread manure contaminating both

the surface and groundwater and seriously affecting both human health and the environment.

The integrated BCS together with our programmed dosing blending System can transform animal manures enhanced to a fine dry powder that is virtually free of both pathogens and offensive odors. In this dry state (approx. 10% moisture), the odor is significantly reduced and the fertilizer derived from manure can then be stored, efficiently transported and sold as a high quality fertilizer.

The manure can be conditioned blended, at the time of production, with a variety of other minerals and chemicals for manufacture of custom fertilizers.

Once processed, the manure can also be pelletized using also granulation process for easy handling and application to farmlands, municipal parks, gardening, green houses and much more application .

The key advantages of the integrated BCS has lower capital and operating costs and smaller foot prints requirements compared with conventional hammer mills and rotary drum dryer systems and several other equipment to come to the quality achieved by our system.

The machine’s footprint is about 150 sqf which is about a fraction of the size of conventional systems to reach the same product results. Conventional systems also require significantly more operating energy and space to dry, screen, blend, the manures compared to the integrated BCS

Transformed manure and other biomass can also have a value as a fuel source. LAKSON has developed complete turn-key solutions to cleanly and cost effectively burn conditioned manure and generate ‘green” power.

Poultry Manure to organic fertilizer in Quebec, Canada

Lakson has signed collaboration with major German company affiliates to develop bio fertilizers, and organic fertilizers from various organic municipal waste and agriculture organic waste to valorize the organic part and produce enriched NPK at various form and percentages concentrations. In March last  year  Lakson already performed the basic engineering for two units of the aforementioned 7 TPH fertilizer production plant using our system along with the supply of a granular system together with Biomass-Fired Hot Air Generator that would be used to heat the storage areas for the raw material and conditioned product. The plant will also be equipped with odor removal system and compact.

Over the past decades, Lakson International Development Inc. (hereby referred to as “Lakson”) has done tremendous research and development and conducted countless analyses and tests, to develop the process and the intellectual property needed to dewater and condition several types of biomass and organic waste into a fine and dry powder that can then be used to generate heat and power or to produce a wide array of products such as fuels and organic fertilizers.

One of the types of biomass that we have been developing is poultry manure. For most farmers and agro-industries, manure is considered as waste and an added expense to their operation due to the costs of either its disposal or treatment. However, through Lakson’s own technology, poultry manure can be conditioned, enriched, transformed and valorized into new products, such as bio-fuel and organic fertilizer with high content of NPK, therefore opening the door to an extra source of revenue.

At the heart of Lakson’s solution is its technological innovation for the conditioning of biomass: Our Biomass Conditioning System; a technology that can not only grind and dry poultry manure that can render it more stable, but enriched and mixing homogenous, with pathogen-free and reduce its odour and volume, to be handled in a more practical and economical way, while avoiding greenhouse gas emissions and conserving the nutrients of the biomass.

Our solution leads to the production of highly calorific and nutrient-rich biomass powder, which can then be pelletized into bio-fuel and/or organic fertilizer, among other products. It is important to note that our solution releases no emissions except for a mist, due to the evaporation of the water contained in the manure.
